You'll be hard to find another team of plasterers that take their work as seriously as us! Not only do we demand perfection at every stage, but also never fail to impress!
We have always understood that plastering is the last phase before the rollers and tins of paint come out! That means we need to do an excellent job. Not just because it creates a great foundation for painting, but also to make the painters job easier.

You will also learn about our recommendations for your plastering. This ensures you get the best finish possible, which is what we love to see!
One of the reasons our plastering work stands out is because of excellent preparation. And no, we're not talking about sheeting up for cleaniness. We are talking about making sure plaster can adhere to your walls and ceilings.
There are numerous techniques we use for this, but the most common is removing grime and dirt from walls that will prevent plaster from aherering. This is most common in kitchens where customers have oil splashes on the walls from cooking.
Another method that is really important is taping the gaps between plasterboard. We are happy to explain what type of preparation is needed for your walls and ceilings (just give us a call!).
There's no need to worry about buying and finding materials. Our team are here to help every step of the way. Once you have decided to work with us, we will go and buy all necessary materials for your plastering work.
As we have been plastering for many years, choosing the most true and tested materials (while being budget-friendly) is second nature to us.
As mentioned previously, every plastering job requires a unique set of skills and preparation. Some walls are severly damaged and will need to be filled/taped before we can start. Other people's walls and ceilings contain artex and want to plaster for a smooth finish. Regardless, we will put together a plan to redesign your walls after you have accepted our quote.
The next step would be for us to choose material and purchase them from popular building merchants such as B&Q. We always ensure to purchase the highest quality materials for our customers.
Mixing plaster is more complex than people might think. It's important to get the correct measurements, otherwise, you could end up with many problems. An important part of mixing gypsum plaster is using clean water. Using dirty water may cause the plaster to dry too soon, which is a plasterers worst nightmares!
Once putting the correct amount of plaster and water in a bucket, we use a mixing drill to mix the plaster to the perfect consistancy. The perfect consistance is thick, but too too thick!
Once the plaster has been mixed, it's time to get to work on your walls and ceilings. We use a trowl to apply plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring their are no bumps and inconsistancies throughout the process. When plastering, a minimum of 2 coats is required, unless you're skimming over existing plaster.
Plastering is our trademark service that most people call us for. Plastering doesn't always include entire rooms either. Sometimes people call us for wall and ceiling repairs, which we are happy to take on, depending on how busy we are at the time.

While sand and cemenet rendering still holds the medal for the common commen in Canterbury, it may not always be the case. K rendering is becoming increasingly popular for it's multiple colour options, durability, weather resitance, and low maintenance.
Our plasterboarding service is normally for customers who have built a new property or wall in their homes. We can plasterboard both walls and ceilings, and then go on the plaster them after, leaving the most durable and best finish.
Dot & dab is when you fit plasterboard to a wall or ceiling. This is done by using a thin layer of adhesive on plasterboard. It's not as durable as plaster but tends to be a simplier process and doesn't take as long. You can plasterboard an entire room in 1 day (depending on the size).
You may have heard of skimming before. It's also referred to as the final layer when plastering a wall or ceiling. Some surfaces can be skimmed (which means 1 coat), rather than needing multiple coats. It all depends on how badly damaged the walls are to start with.
The best thing to do is call us so we can discuss your plastering project over the phone or

It depends on the scope of the job. For small rooms that need skimming, it may only take one day. Entire houses can take up to 4 weeks. Without seeing the size of the job, we cannot provide an estimated start and finish date.

When plastering a room, we open all the doors and window, allowing for ventilation. This means the plaster can dry quicker, so you can get round to painting it faster. We always advise waiting 5 days after plastering before you begin painting. This is to ensure it has dried out beforehand. Painting on wet plaster is a big no-no.
